Walk Y0450: This 10k/6k walk is rated 1A. It begins at the historic Stagecoach Inn, once a stop on the Chisholm Trail, and includes historical homes, a sculpture garden, and the ruins of Salado College, founded in 1859. The Central Texas Area Museum houses many artifacts from the Native Americans and the early Scottish settlers. Bridges over Salado creek and springs provide beautiful vistas. The rating for strollers and wheelchairs is Hard. Restrooms are available, and pets are allowed on the walk.

Directions: Salado is a little over 50 miles north of Central Austin on I-35. Traveling N on I-35 from Austin, take exit 286, for route 2484, and Holiday Inn will be on your right. Traveling S on I-35 from Waco, take exit 286 for route 2484. Cross over highway to Stagecoach Rd. Walkbox located on floor at left inside first door. Drive about 1 mile to park car and begin the walk. Directions to start are inside the walkbox.
