The West Texas Trail Walkers will be hosting a long weekend of walks at Guadalupe Mountains National Park October 9 – 11 (Friday through Sunday). You should have already pre-registered if you plan on going!
Walkers can walk McKittrick Canyon on Friday, Guadalupe Peak or El Capitan Trail on Saturday, and Devil’s Hall on Sunday. Shorter options are available in the park and also in the town of Carlsbad, New Mexico. These shorter, easier walks may be done anytime from Oct 7th through the 12th.
On Friday, October 9, there will be a Happy Hour in Carlsbad at the Guadalupe Mountain Brewing CO, 3324 National Parks Hwy, at 5:00 pm.
On Saturday, October 10, the West Texas Trail Walkers will hold their Annual Awards Dinner from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. It will be at “PJ and B’s Rio Café” along the Pecos River at 711 Muscatel Ave., Carlsbad, NM. The cost is $39 for an all-you-can-eat fajita buffet.
