Colorado River Walkers
April 12, 2026, Meeting Minutes
The April 12 meeting of the CRW at the Central Market Café was called to order by Carol O at 2:03 pm. Members present were Kathy F, Mike F, Larry J, Stephanie K, Carol O, Lisa R, Greg S, Taina S, Wayne S, Terry S, and Gerta, who was congratulated on her upcoming birthday.
Stephanie moved and Taina seconded approval of the April minutes. The treasurer reported a total of $1685.80 in checking. Taina moved and Mike seconded acceptance of the financial report. Terry sold one book and patch for the Texas Historic Landmarks program to a member; this program has now been discontinued, but the book can still be completed.
Terry gave the YRE report for Linda D, who could not attend.

Elections will be held at the May meeting. Terry has volunteered to be president for a year. Mike has volunteered to be equipment manager. Carol will send Mike a photo of the equipment that is currently stored in her garage. We still need candidates for secretary and treasurer.
We have a traditional walk scheduled at the Violet Crown Trail on April 18. The starting point is the Walgreens parking lot on 5011 W. Slaughter Lane. Four people attended the workers’ walk on April 11, and other club members have earlier tried out the trail. There are two loops on the trail, one to the south to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, and one going north. We don’t need a checkpoint, but one person will be stationed at the Wildflower Center where walkers can access the restrooms, water fountain, and retail store with their start cards.
Carol reviewed the duties for the walk on April 18. The volunteer slots are complete. We will need tables and chairs, and donated snacks and water are always welcome.
Terry mentioned that the Texas Volkssports Association has accepted the CRW proposal to host the TVA convention November 13 (featured YRE in Round Rock), November 14 (Featured YRE in Georgetown) and November 15 (traditional walk at Berry Springs Park and Reserve.) The club has returned its previous walk date of November 21.
Because May 10 would be our normal meeting date, but it is Mother’s Day, the next meeting will be May 3 at 3 pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:03 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Terry Sullivan
Secretary-Treasurer
