We are pleased to be featuring our Cedar Park Year Round Event (YRE) on Saturday, February 28th.
The walk Start/Finish is at Twin Lakes Family YMCA, 204 E. Little Elm Trail, Cedar Park, TX 78613. Walkers may start between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM, and they should finish by 2:00 PM.
This is a pleasant walk on the Brushy Creek Regional Trail (BCRT) hike and bike trail. The path is a broad cement walkway for most of the walk, and it goes right beside Brushy Creek for parts of the walk.
For this featured YRE event we’ll be walking through parts of Twin Lakes Park. The picture above and the one below were taken from the waterfront area of the park.

There are 3 distances available from which walkers may choose: 6k, 10k, and 15k.
The 6k goes through Twin Lakes Park and on the BCRT for an out and back walk along the creek.
The 10k does the same but goes further on the BCRT, under the historic railroad bridge and by the labyrinth in Brushy Creek Lake Park. Below is a picture of the lake.

And the labyrinth.

The 15k goes even further on the BCRT to cross the dam and go through Champion Park. The return trip goes through Brushy Creek Lake Park past the splashpad, and by this mermaid by the sand volleyball court.

Just a note about parking at the Start/Finish:
Our Start/Finish will be set up at the Trail Head Pavilion, which has rest rooms right by it. When entering the parking lot from E Little Elm, turn Left and drive to the far left side of the parking lot by our S/F. The YMCA parking lot is expected to be very crowded this Saturday, and there should be more open spaces further away from the YMCA building. Please see the map below.

Another note about driving directions:
Please use your Google Maps, or whatever you normally use on your phone. There are multiple ways to get to the YMCA, and traffic conditions vary on I-35.
It should be a nice day for a walk on Saturday! Today we had a pleasant worker’s walk. Below is a picture from this morning. We disturbed the geese, which were resting in the sun. That’s Wayne on the left, with Mike and Lisa further ahead!

The walk brochure is below.
