The Texas Trail Roundup is hosting another great 3-day IML walking festival in Central Texas February 20th through the 22nd. It’s not too late (or too early!) to register for this event, which you can do using the link at the bottom of this post.
In recent years, the IML walks have all taken place in San Antonio, but this year we are shaking things up a bit. The first walk of the IML will be in Fredericksburg, where the very first volksmarch in the United States occurred in 1976. That’s right – this year we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of America’s Walking Club (AVA).
Here’s an Overview of the scheduled walks:
- On Friday, February 20th, there will be a 50th Anniversary Walk in Fredericksburg, Texas. We’ll also have the opening ceremony, food and entertainment.
- On Saturday, February 21st, walkers can choose between a 5k, 10k, half marathon (21k), and full marathon (42k) in San Antonio. We’ll be walking through the heart of San Antonio and the missions, followed by a fun social gathering on South Alamo Street.
- On Sunday, February 22nd, choose between a 5k, 10k and Half Marathon. Walk through the San Antonio River Walk, followed by a celebration and ending ceremony at Beethoven Männerchor.
