On Friday, November 28, 2025 (aka Black Friday) the Colorado River Walkers will host a walk in Pflugerville. This is one of our club’s Year Round Events, and it is a very pretty walk. The picture above was taken by Stephanie Knight on this walk last November.
The start window is 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Pflugerville Recreation Center, 400 Immanuel Road, Pflugerville. The Recreation Center will be closed for the holiday, but Terry Sullivan will be on hand in the spacious parking lot to register you. Pay and get your books stamped, then walk along the lovely creeks at your own pace. There will be a FREE PATCH (B-award) for all participants. Cost is $4 ($2 for children 12 and under).
There are restrooms along the trail. The trail is rated 1A and there are 5K and 10K options.
This walk is part of #OptOutside, a national AVA program to provide an alternative to shopping – and also a way to walk off that extra slice of pie on Thanksgiving!
Directions to the Walk Start:
Pflugerville Rec Center is at 400 Immanuel Rd, Pflugerville TX 78660.
Going North on I-35, take Exit-247. Drive about 1 mile on access road, turn right on Wells Branch Pkwy. *Travel 3.3 miles, crossing Dessau, then turn left on Immanuel Rd. Recreation Center is about 0.8 miles on left.
Going South on I-35, take Exit 247, then turn left at traffic light at Wells Branch Pkwy, go under I-35. Continue from * above.
