AVA Headquarters is teaming up with Family Service to host a great event in San Antonio this coming Saturday, October 18th.
The theme is “Take a Walk on the Westside,” and true to its name, the walk is on the west side of San Antonio. The walk route is on neighborhood streets, the Westside Creeks pathways, and beautiful Elmendorf Lake Park and Our Lady of the Lake University Campus.
In addition to the walk, there will be fun activities at the Start/Finish:
- A free health fair!
- At 11:00 am there will be live entertainment by multi-award winning Elvis Tribute Artist, Travis Hudson.
- At 12:00 pm is a Children’s Bike give away! (Child must be present to win.)
This event is a fund raiser for America’s Walking Club (AVA). Registration Fee is $25.00. It includes a T-Shirt to all registrants and medals to all finishers (Kids 12 and under are free).

The walk start point is Family Service Neighborhood community center, located at 3014 Rivas Street, San Antonio, TX 78228.
The Start Table opens at 8:00 am. The 10K self-guided walk starts then. A 5K Guided Walk starts at 8:30 am, and then a 1.6 km (1 mile) Guided Walk for Beginners starts at 9:00 am. All walkers must finish by Noon. We hope you can make it out to this event!
