The picture above was shared with us by Martin Callahan. He took the picture of Charley W., Frank E. with Blanca, and Doug E. on our Capital YRE walk on July 12th. We altered the route to pass by the troll Malin in Pease Park.
Colorado River Walkers
July, 2025, Meeting Minutes
The July, 2025, meeting of the Colorado River Walkers was called to order at 6:02 on Monday, July 14, at the Central Market Cafe. President Carol O. called the meeting to order at 6:04 pm. Members present were Linda D, Kathy F, Larry J, Stephanie K, Carol O, Greg S, Terry S., Mary Z.
It was moved and seconded that the June minutes be accepted. (Thanks to Mary for taking minutes in Terry’s absence.) The treasurer’s report showed $1758.73 in checking at the end of the month of June. Linda gave the YRE report for June as follows:
Historic Capital YRE. 2
Lady Bird Lake. 1
Cedar Park. 1
Pflugerville. 2
Round Rock. 2
The Sunrise YRE had 51 walkers, including 3 children and 1 walker with a coupon. We also received $26 in donations. The Pease Park Troll was a major highlight of the walk.
Our next scheduled walk will be September 27. Carol proposes that the club not meet in August. Then our next regular meeting would be September 8. There might be a meeting, however, for people interested in planning the September 27 walk. Stephanie is investigating the Onion Creek walk as a possibility that we had previously planned but had encountered bad weather. Mueller/Bartholomew Park is another possibility.
Ed McCabe is vice president of AVA and lives in Dripping Springs. We are interested in getting him engaged in our club.
Terry gave out free 40-year-old patches at the Sunrise YRE. These were a hit and Terry suggested we should consider continuing to draw down our supply of old awards.
We had cookies to celebrate Greg’s birthday and flowers for Carol and Terry, who also had July birthdays.
Respectfully submitted,
Terry Sullivan, Secretary-Treasurer
