April 2025 Minutes
Colorado River Walkers
The April 14, 2025, meeting of the Colorado River Walkers was called to order by President Carol Obianwu at 6:13 pm at the Central Market Cafe on North Lamar.
The members were Linda D., Stephanie K., Carol O., Greg S., Terry S., and Mary Z. The minutes from March were accepted. The treasurer reported $1879.33 in the checking account, an increase of $4 from the previous month.
Linda gave the YRE report. There were 23 YRE walkers in March, including 4 at Salado. We are trying to get our start box relocated at the reopened Stagecoach Inn but have had no response from them yet. We don’t have to change the start and the people at our current start point, the Holiday Inn, have been very nice to us. Carol is still working on the Round Rock YRE route directions.
Carol reported that at the Easton Park II Walk on April 12, we had 56 walkers. Walkers complimented the venue, and the weather was wonderful. Thank you to all the workers.
May is walking month. We need to have a group walk of a YRE and need a volunteer or two to organize.
We hope a number of club members go to the convention. Terry S. will be the voting delegate for the club. Terry is also bringing a basket for the silent auction, and club members are welcome to donate something Texas-themed to the basket. Linda moved and Mary seconded that the club give Terry $200 to represent the club.
Carol is contacting some of the walkers we didn’t previously know who came to Easton Park II.
