The Volkssportverein Friedrichsburg walking club is hosting a walk in Llano this coming Saturday, March 29th. This walk is usually held in conjunction with the Llano Earth Arts Fest (L.E.A.F.) each spring. This year, there will be a mini-LEAF, focusing on the earth arts and the World Rock Stacking championship. So, less live music and fewer food vendors, but it’s FREE this year. Walkers go right by it, and it’s worth roaming through the site.
In addition to the rock stacking, there is a lot to see in the historic Hill Country town of Llano. The picture above shows the historic Roy B. Inks Bridge that spans the Llano River near the walk start point. Carol Obianwu took this photo at the Llano walk in March of 2021.
The walk start point is the parking lot behind the Llano County Historical Museum, located at 310 Bessemer Ave, Llano, TX 78643. Walkers may start the walk from 9:00 AM until Noon, and they must be finished by 3:00 PM.
The weather should be good this weekend, so please join us on a great walk in Llano!
