Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah, everyone! And Kwanzaa starts tomorrow! We hope that you all are having a joyful holiday season with family and friends.
New Year’s Eve is right around the corner, and that brings us to our next walking event in Central Texas. It is a 2-day event that will be in Fredericksburg on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
This event is an annual tradition sponsored by the Volkssportverein Friedrichsburg club. Walkers gather to say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new year.
On Tuesday, December 31st, walkers may choose between a morning walk or evening walk, or they may do both.
- The morning walk is the Cross Mountain YRE, and registration is from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Walkers should be finished by 4:00 pm.
- The evening walk is the Pilgrimage YRE, and registration for that walk is from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Walkers should be finished by midnight. Bring your flashlights and enjoy the Christmas lights!
The Wednesday walk on January 1st is the St. Mary’s Cemeteries YRE, with a start window of 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Walkers should finish this walk by 2:00 pm.
