The Colorado River Walkers are hosting a walk in Bastrop State Park this coming Saturday, November 16th, with a start window from 8:00 to 11:00 am. Walkers should be finished by 2:00 pm.
Our Start/Finish will be at the Roadhouse Bastrop restaurant, 0.25 km from the entrance to Bastrop State Park. Participants will walk from the restaurant into the park, and this distance counts towards the total distance walked. The address for Roadhouse Bastrop is 2804 Tx Hwy 21, Bastrop, TX 78602. Our Start/Finish will be set up on the front porch of the building on the right, as seen below.

There will be three trails: a 5K that begins at The Roadhouse, a 5K that begins at the Golf Shelter (both walks rated 1A) and another 5K that is more challenging (2B) that can be added onto either of the easy 5Ks. There is one checkpoint, and the 10K walkers will go to the checkpoint twice.
The 5K that begins at the Golf Shelter in Bastrop State Park was added so that any walkers who are concerned about crossing Hwy 21 on foot will be able to drive into the park instead. This alternate route starts and ends at the checkpoint by the Golf Shelter in the park and includes extra distance to make up for not walking from the restaurant into the park. Walkers will still register, pay, and receive their start card at Roadhouse Bastrop. They will then drive into Bastrop State Park and do the entire walk within the park. They then need to drive back to Roadhouse Bastrop to the Finish table.
The two pictures below were taken on the Co. 1805 trail, which is on the more challenging loop.

Walkers may want to have a burger at Roadhouse Bastrop after the walk. They are really good! The Bacon Cheese Burger from a recent visit was delicious.

The walk brochure is available below. The weather should be good this weekend, and we hope to see you there!
