The Colorado River Walkers are pleased to be hosting a walk in Richard Moya Park this fall. It will be on Saturday, September 28th, with a start window from 8:00 to 11:00 am.
The park is on the southeast side of Austin, just south of the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The address is 10001 Burleson Road, Austin, TX 78719.
Did you know that in 2021, the Austin Chronicle “Best of Austin – Critics Picks” award for the “Best Pleasant Walk in the Shade” went to Richard Moya Park?
We hosted a walk at this same park four years ago, and we enjoyed the shade of the huge Pecan trees. We are excited to be going back, and since this is our second walk at the park, we are calling this walk “Richard Moya Park Revisited.” A few things have changed at the airport since our last walk, and we also have a qualifier for the “Walking With America’s Veterans” Special Program.
Above is a picture of the famous Moore’s Crossing Bridge, and below are a few more pictures taken at the park recently.
See the walk brochure below for all the details.
Carol Obianwu took these pictures of the bridge. Below is a great shot taken on the bridge.

After you cross the bridge from the park, you see this historical marker at the end of the bridge.

We’ll provide more details later!
