Comfort Walk on Nov 25th

Comfort Walk on Nov 25th

The Hill Country Volkssportverein walking club will be hosting a great walk in Comfort this coming Saturday, November 25th.  The walk is being held in conjunction with the popular “Christmas in Comfort” holiday event.  Walkers will stroll by booths containing arts and crafts for sale in the historic downtown area, and there are also food vendors and holiday music to add to the fun. In addition to downtown, walkers get to enjoy the Guadalupe River and scenic views from country roads along the route.

The picture above was taken by Martin Callahan at the Comfort walk in November of 2022. It shows the old Karger Building which was built in 1913. He also took the rest of the pictures in this post at that same walk.

Below, left to right are Johnie, JoAnn, Connie, and John Laredo, with John and Connie’s son Julian in front. They are standing in front of the Faltin Building, which housed a general merchandise store in the mid-1800s.

Next is a picture of the Guadalupe River taken from the trail.

He also took a shot of this guy in town. Did I mention that there is live music?

Lastly are Carol Talpey and Tina and John Bohnert at the Finish table below.

Walkers may start the walk from 8:00 to 10:00 am, and they must finish by 1:00 pm. The Start/Finish will be at Comfort Community Park, located at the corner of Hwy 27 and Broadway in Comfort.

The festive atmosphere and Hill Country charm of Comfort always make this a fun walk.  The event is the perfect way to walk off some Thanksgiving turkey pounds and get ready for the Christmas season at the same time!
