The Texas Volkssport Association will be holding its semiannual membership meeting this coming Saturday, November 11th, in Irving. It will be at the Garden and Art Building, 906 S Senter Rd, Irving, TX 75060.
Along with the meeting, there will be three days of walking opportunities in north Texas.
- The Friday walk will be in Fort Worth and is being hosted by the Tarrant County Walkers. They are featuring their Fort Worth Downtown Year Round Event (YRE). The walk route includes the impressive Fort Worth Water Gardens, historic buildings, the 35-block Sundance Square, an entertainment district, and the beautiful Bass Performance Hall.
- The Saturday walk is in Irving, and it is being hosted by the Star Trekkers. They are featuring their “Las Colinas” YRE. The walk goes along the promenade around the Mandalay Canal and Lake Carolyn. It also includes the marble cow statues in Founders Park and the incredible Mustang statues in Williams Square.
- The Sunday walk is in Dallas and is being hosted by the Dallas Trekkers. It is a seasonal walk, available from October 1st, 2023, until December 31st, 2023, but it is the special “emphasized” walk on Sunday, with the start point being staffed from 9:00 to 11:00 am. It is the “JFK Remembered” walk. The walk route follows JFK’s final motorcade, and walkers will see the places associated with his assassination and Oswald’s escape route.
