The San Antonio Pathfinders walking club is hosting a walk on the southwest side of San Antonio this coming Saturday, October 14th. It is the “Tribute to Freedom Annular Eclipse” walk, starting at the New Life Christian Church Center, located at 6610 West US Highway 90, San Antonio, TX 78227.
We are looking forward to this unique walk. It combines some beautiful walking trails on a new section of the Leon Creek Greenway and gives us a chance to see the Annular Eclipse!
The eclipse will start at 10:23 AM and end at 1:33 PM, with the best viewing right before Noon. To make the best of that experience, the start table will be open from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and walkers must finish by 3:00 PM.
In addition to the eclipse up in the sky, there are also some other impressive sights along the route. The walk goes by the Tribute to Freedom sculpture in Lackland Corridor Gateway Park. Also, walkers will see the Galilee Prayer Garden, a replica of the Western Wall, and the San Antonio 9/11 Memorial and its forever flame on the grounds of the New Life Christian Church Center.
For all the details, please see the walk brochure below.
Both the 5 and 10 km routes are rated 1A (easy!), and the weather should be perfect, so we hope to see you there!
