The Volkssportverein Friedrichsburg walking club will be hosting a Founders’ Day Walk in Fredericksburg on Saturday, June 10th. This walk honors Reverend Kenn Knopp, a Fredericksburg native. He organized the first volksmarch in America in 1976, and it took place in Fredericksburg.
There is so much to see in Fredericksburg. The Vereins Kirche Museum in the Marktplatz is shown above, and the Admiral Nimitz Gallery is shown in the picture below. These pictures were taken by Stephanie K. on this walk last year. For more pictures from that walk, see our post on July 22, 2022.
The start point for this walk is at the Kinder Halle in the Marktplatz, which is right next to the Vereins Kirche Museum. Walkers may register for the walk between 8:00 and 11:00 AM, and they must be finished by 2:00 PM.
