The Hill Country Volkssportsverein walking club will be featuring five walks in the Texas Hill Country town of Kerrville this coming Saturday, May 13th.
These are Year Round Event (YRE) walks, and club members will be at the start point at the Inn of the Hills Resort in Kerrville to help walkers get registered and to stamp books. They will be there from 8:00 to 10:00 am.
After registering, walkers may choose any of the walks and then drive to the actual walk start point.
The Kerrville YREs are:
Bridge Walk – The route begins at Elm Creek Park, crosses Kerrville’s beautiful bridge over the Guadalupe River, a footbridge and a 3rd bridge before returning to the start point.
Downtown Kerrville – Pass historic buildings, churches, museums and the Kerr County Courthouse. The trail includes the delightful Riverside Nature Center.
Guadalupe River Trail – The tree-lined River Trail follows a 10 foot wide trail along the scenic Guadalupe River.
Old and New Walk – The Old & New route has a variety of things to see – with trails through parks, historic areas and schools, including the recent Kroc Corps Center and the historic Doyle School Community Center.
Schreiner University – Enjoy charming Schreiner University, a city park with many options for activities, and a sweeping view of the hills across the Guadalupe River.
This is a great way to get to know the Kerrville area!
