Pictures from the Historic Lampasas Walk on Oct 8th

Colorado River Walker Carol Obianwu walked the Historic Lampasas walk this past Saturday and shared these pictures with us.  This was one of the walks hosted by the West Texas Trail Walkers during their long weekend of walks at Colorado Bend State Park and Lampasas.

Carol said that the walk Start/Finish was at the Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden, and she enjoyed looking at all of the sculptures.  The sculpture above is called “Meadow Dancers,” and it was created by David Hickman in 2006.

There were a lot of butterflies in the gardens.  Below is a closeup of some of them.

The next sculpture was created by Terrell Powell in 2011.  It is entitled “Bird Totem.”

Below is a mural in town.

Carol passed by the Lampasas Farmers Market on the courthouse square.  The market is open on Saturdays from May to October.

After the walk, Carol walked into a German restaurant on the square and ran into some friends who invited her to join them.  In the picture below, left to right, are Barbara P., Barbara J., Edwin B. and Marilyn B.

Thank you, Carol, for sharing the great pictures!
