Next CRW Meeting is Monday, Oct 10th

Our club was so happy to see John Luther, one of our club’s founding fathers, at our Berry Springs Park and Preserve walk that was held on September 24th.  In the picture above, left to right, are Charles Rogers, Carol Obianwu, and John Luther at the Start/Finish.  John was the club’s first president when it was formed in 1981.  He is currently living in Sun City near Georgetown, and we hope to see more of him!

The next Colorado River Walkers monthly meeting will be on Monday, October 10th. We will meet at 6:00 pm at the Central Market at 4001 N. Lamar Blvd, in the upstairs café area, either inside the store or on the upstairs covered patio.  This is the same place where we have been meeting recently.

We can’t bring in outside food to Central Market, so if you’d like to enjoy refreshments at the meeting, arrive a little earlier and buy your dinner or snack and a drink downstairs.  Then head with your food, via either the elevator or the stairs, to the room upstairs.

If anyone is planning on being at the meeting and has any extra wire hangers, please bring them to the meeting on Monday night. Deb is organizing and updating our supply of direction arrows for our walks.

The picture below was taken by Deb Peak as she was marking the 10km route at the Berry Springs walk on the evening of September 23rd.  She was our intrepid trail master for the Berry Springs walk and did a great job on the walk. Deb is a relative new-comer to Texas and was excited to see her first armadillo.  She got a great picture, probably better than most native Texans!

We love the picture, Deb, and appreciate all the hard work that you put into the Berry Springs walk!
