The West Texas Trail Walkers will be hosting their annual weekend of walks this coming weekend, October 7th through October 9th. The walks will be at Colorado Bend State Park, and pre-registration for the walks at the park ended September 23, 2022. If you didn’t pre-register, you won’t be able to enter the state park and do the walks there. However, you still can do the Historic Lampasas walk. The Lampasas County Courthouse is shown in the picture above.
This is a nice walk in downtown Lampasas. It was once a resort destination known for mineral springs and clear spring water. The 10k continues along the Sulphur Creek to an old spring-fed swimming pool.
Anyone may do the Historic Lampasas walk anytime during daylight hours from October 6th through the 9th. The walk box for this walk will be in the lobby of the Best Western Plus hotel from October 6th through October 9th. The Best Western Plus is located at 1504 S. Key Ave., Lampasas, TX 76550.
Also, group walks for the Historic Lampasas walk will be held on Thursday, October 6th, at 1:00 pm and again at 2:00 pm.
Please note that the Historic Lampasas walk has a remote start. After registering at the Best Western Plus, drive to the Hanna Springs Swimming Pool and Park to begin the walk. The Hanna Springs Swimming Pool and Park is located at 501 E North Ave., Lampasas, TX 76550.
