Colorado River Walkers

09/12/2022

Stephanie K, Vice President, called the meeting to order at 6:02 pm at Central Market upstairs dining area.  There were 9 members present.

MINUTES: The 08/08/2022 meeting minutes were previously sent by e-mail and not read. The minutes were approved as sent.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  Sam H. e-mailed a report of a total of $3410.00 in the checking account at this time. Regarding the Big Give, Sam suggested a club member may want to use the $250 donation to compete in the Unrestricted Match Minute for a matching donation up to $100. Stephanie K. agreed to do this.

OLD BUSINESS

1. The next sponsored CRW walk event will be 9/24/2022 at Berry Springs Park. The map and directions have been completed. There will be one check point. A signup sheet for volunteers to staff the walk was passed around.  Those not present and who wish to volunteer, please contact Deb P. A worker’s walk is planned for Tues., Sept. 20th at 9:00 AM. Meet in Berry Springs Park at the walk Start Point (pavilion). Wear a hat and put on bug spray. Andy Butler volunteered to help mark the route on Fri., Sept. 23rd.    Snacks would be welcomed if anyone would like to bring some.   

NEW BUSINESS:   

1. Two possibilities for a walk event scheduled for 11/19/2022 were presented:

  • Roy Guerrero Park. Carol O. has led several exploratory walks there this summer.
  • Onion Creek Neighborhood.  Stephanie K. lives in this neighborhood and will investigate the possibility of stating a walk at the Onion Creek Country Club.

After discussion, it was decided to pursue a walk at Onion Creek Neighborhood since it would be a new place for a walk and closer to San Antonio.
