South Texas Medical Center walk in San Antonio on Aug 20th

This coming Saturday, August 20th, the San Antonio Pathfinders will be featuring the South Texas Medical Center “Indie Memorial Walk” Year Round Event (YRE) as part of the Summer Sunrise series of walks.

The picture above of Mike and Kathy S. was taken on this walk in March of 2021.  They are standing by the “Wings of Hope-Hands of Healing” sculpture by the Mays Cancer Center on the walk route.

The start window is from 7:00 am to 9:00 am, and the Start/Finish location for this walk is at the San Antonio Medical Foundation Jogging Trail Parking Lot on Hamilton Wolfe, near the intersection of Hamilton Wolfe and Babcock Rd.

This is not the usual start point for this walk, so please see the map below.

This YRE is dedicated to the memory of “Indie”, Martin Callahan’s canine walking partner and Best Friend for many years, who passed away in July 2015. The walk route is on walking trails and sidewalks, with plenty to see in the medical center complex. The walking trails are very pleasant, with some shade trees and deer out and about.

Please see the brochure below for all the details.

Also, the usual start location for this walk, Martha’s Mexican Grill Restaurant, will be open at 10:00 am, so we’re looking forward to stopping by for lunch after the walk! They are located at 5822 Babcock Road, San Antonio, TX 78240.

We hope you’ll be able to join us!
