The Volkssportverein Friedrichsburg walking club is featuring their wonderful walk in Stonewall this coming Saturday, July 9th. The walk takes place on the grounds of the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and National Historical Park.
This park is so much fun to explore, and it is in a beautiful pastoral setting. What more could you want? For a few photos from last year’s walk, click here.
The 5k walk route goes through the exhibits of the Johnson family and early settlers in the area, through the Sauer-Beckman Living History Farm, and past the fenced enclosure of American bison. The 10k route includes these areas and also takes in the Junction School. There is an additional 10k route that goes into the ranch, and it can be added on for 20k.
The Start/Finish is in the parking lot of the LBJ State Park Visitor Center. The address is 199 Park Road 52, Stonewall, TX 78671. The registration table at the start point will be staffed from 6:30 am (dawn) to 11:30 am, so walkers can start early to beat the heat.
Please see the flyer below for all the details on this year’s walk.
We hope you can join us!
