Some of our Colorado River Walker club members did a worker’s walk on April 15th in preparation for our Artistic Bastrop walk this coming Saturday, April 30th.
These pictures were taken on the walk on the 15th. The picture above shows our group heading out from the Start/Finish at Fisherman’s Park and walking along the Colorado River. The next two pictures are also from Fisherman’s Park.

The walk route goes by the Bastrop County Courthouse, pictured below.

Across the street from the courthouse is the Ascension Catholic Church. This next picture of a statue on the side of the church was taken along the walk route.

The next picture shows Mario by a sculpture of an eagle with engravings on it.

We walked by the silos behind the Lost Pines Art Center/Art Institute of Austin. There was a glass blowing demonstration going on, so we stopped to watch.

There is also an old steam engine on the grounds of the Lost Pines Art Center/Art Institute of Austin. The picture below shows Carol (left) and Dolores by the engine.

Next is a picture of the group in front of the building. Left to right are Carol, Dolores behind her, Mario, Mary and Rozy.

Below is just a pretty house on Chestnut Street.

Mary stopped in front of the Bastrop Opera House for the next picture.

The last picture is of a quaint antiques shop that we passed towards the end of the walk.

We enjoyed all the sights and artwork around town, and we hope you will, too!
