The Colorado River Walkers club is pleased to be hosting a walk in Bastrop on Saturday, April 30th. Carol Obianwu has been working on the new route, and we are excited by all the interesting things there are to see on this walk.
A group of us walked the route in March, and we have some fun pictures to share. Deb Peak took the picture above, as well as the next picture of a mural at Fisherman’s Park.

Parking for this walk is at a public parking lot next to the Bastrop Public Library at 1100 Church Street, Bastrop, TX 78602. After parking, walkers will be directed to the walk start point at Fisherman’s Park, a short distance away. Walkers may start the walk from 8:00 am until 11:00 am, and they should be finished by 2:00 pm.
Please see the brochure below for all the details.
Carol Obianwu shared the next two pictures from the group walk in March. The first one shows, left to right, Jean B., Hal B., and Carol O in front of the historic Bastrop Opera House.

In the next picture, Hal B. is posing with the life-sized Marilyn Monroe statue in town.

Deb Peak took the picture below of Stephanie K. hanging out with the three bear sculptures in front of the Bastrop City Hall building. The set of sculptures, named “The Conspirators,” was created by bronze wildlife sculptor Joshua Tobey.

Stephanie Knight took the next picture of a mural in Fisherman’s Park. The park is right on the banks of the Colorado River.

Stephanie and Deb walked the 10k route, which goes out to the Pyrology Foundry, and took these pictures of statues on the foundry grounds.

We hope you’ll be able to join us!
