The Colorado River Walkers will be hosting a volksmarch at McKinney Falls State Park this coming Saturday, February 26th. The last time our club put on a walk in this park was in 2016, and we have enjoyed exploring the park in preparation for this Saturday’s walk. For the walk flyer, please click here.
Doug Eide took these pictures on a recent walk. The weather was cold, but the park was still beautiful! In the photo above, from left to right, are Carolyn, Frank and Rick standing in front of a low rock wall.
Below are the Upper McKinney Falls, flowing nicely due to recent rains.

The next two pictures were taken by the Picnic Area. The first shows our group of walkers on the trail, and the second shows Onion Creek, which runs alongside the Picnic Area.

Below, Doug is standing by the Lower McKinney Falls.

The following picture shows, left to right, Charles, Rick, Frank and Carolyn on the exposed volcanic rock that walkers cross on their way to the Lower Falls.

Next are two pictures taken in the Rock Shelter.

“Old Baldy,” the 500 year old Cypress tree, can be seen in the middle of the photograph below.

The last picture is a view of Onion Creek from the walk route.

Thanks, Doug, for sharing the pictures!
