Center Point Walk on Feb 5th – Cancelled

Center Point Walk on Feb 5th – Cancelled

This walk and the entire 3-day weekend of walks and meetings have been cancelled due to the weather.

The Guadalupe Gallivanters, aka Hill Country Volkssportsverein, will be hosting a walk in Center Point this coming Saturday, February 5th.  Center Point is a charming historic town, and the walk includes both the historic district and the countryside, with views of the Guadalupe River.

Walkers may start the walk between 8:00 and 11:00 am, and they should finish by 2:00 pm.  The start point is the Center Point Museum located at 310 FM 480, Center Point, TX 78010.

For all the details, please download the brochure for this walk below.

This traditional walk is part of a 3-day weekend of walks centered around the Texas Volkssport Association (TVA) meeting.  The meeting will be at the Inn of the Hills in Kerrville on Saturday afternoon.

It will be a great weekend of Hill Country walks, despite the cold weather!  The other two walks are featured Year Round Events in the town of Kerrville:

  • Guadalupe River Trail walk on Friday, Feb 4th, with folks available to help register walkers from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The photo of the ducks above with the Guadalupe River in the background was taken on this walk in 2016.
  • Kerrville Downtown walk on Sunday, Feb 6th, with manned registration from 8:00 to 10:00 am.

If you aren’t able to register for the walks during these times, you are free to register at the Inn of the Hills lobby at your convenience.

The brochure for the entire weekend of walks and the TVA meeting is below.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate! The start point for the Center Point walk is inside the museum, and it is also the mid-point checkpoint for the walk, so walkers will have a chance to come inside and warm up with a hot beverage!
