McKinney Falls State Park Walk on Feb 26th

The Colorado River Walkers will be hosting a traditional walk on Saturday, February 26th, at McKinney Falls State Park in southeast Austin. Our club hosted a walk at this park in 2016, and we are happy to be featuring this beautiful park again.

The picture above shows a view of Onion Creek from the trail.

The park is located at 5808 McKinney Falls Parkway, Austin, TX 78744.  Walkers may start the walk between 9 am and Noon, and they should be finished by 3 pm.

Our walk start point will be near the recently reopened Smith Visitor Center in the park.  The center was closed in 2013 due to damage from the Halloween flood that year.  It has been repaired and remodeled, and it has excellent exhibits that provide information about the history of the area.
