A group of us Colorado River Walkers from the Austin area drove down to the coast to walk in Rockport, Port Aransas and Corpus Christi this past weekend. Four ladies – four walks – three towns – three days. It was great fun!
In the picture above, left to right are Paulette, Carmen and Deb on the Port Aransas Beach walk, and below (left to right) are Carmen, Paulette and Stephanie on the Rockport walk.

We did the Rockport YRE on Friday, October 22nd, and then we drove to the Emerald Beach Hotel in Corpus Christi after the walk. The hotel was our home base for the weekend.
Below is a photo of Stephanie, Carmen and Deb on the deck of Kokomo’s Outdoor Bar at the hotel after dinner.

On Saturday, we did the shorter version of the two Port Aransas walks. We started off with the Historic Town walk, and then we did the Beach walk. Of course, we had to get a picture in the shark’s mouth!

Next are a few pictures from the Port Aransas Nature Preserve.

On the Port Aransas Beach walk, we saw a ship heading out into the Gulf of Mexico.

On Sunday, we walked the Corpus Christi Shoreline walk. Below is Deb with the USS Lexington in the background.

Deb took the picture below of Stephanie and Paulette on the walk route.

Next is Paulette by the marina.

Carmen took this last picture of a group of remote control miniature sailboats!

Thank you, Mike and Kathy Schwenke, of the San Antonio Pathfinders club, for organizing and hosting this walking weekend!
