The Texas Volkssport Association (TVA) and the Colorado River Walkers club are excited to present a walk at the Canyon of the Eagles resort on Saturday, November 13th. The resort is located on the shores of Lake Buchanan, about 20 miles northwest of Burnet, Texas. It will be a morning walk, followed by the TVA meeting at 1:00 pm at the resort. The start window for the walk is from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
There are two walk routes available, a 6k and an 11k route. Both routes are rated 2B, so there are some moderate hills, and the walk route includes some gravel and dirt trails. A portion of both routes follows the coastline of Lake Buchanan and allows beautiful views of the lake.
This is a great opportunity to come out and experience the resort and the surrounding Hill Country. There is a fantastic restaurant at the resort, the Overlook Restaurant. It sits on a hill and has three walls of windows so diners may enjoy the views.
In conjunction with this walk, the Colorado River Walkers will be featuring two of their nearby Year Round Events.
- On Friday (11/12), we will have club members at our Georgetown YRE start point from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm to help walkers register and get started on the walk.
- On Sunday (11/14), we will be at the Round Rock YRE start point from 10:00 am until Noon to assist with registration.
