The Colorado River Walkers will be putting on our “Texas Caves” walk in Cedar Park this coming Saturday, April 24th. For all the details, please see the walk brochure below:
We have been enjoying walking through the cave preserves during the past few months in preparation for this walk. It is good to see the natural vegetation “greening up” recently. The photo above of Frank E. at Milburn Park was taken in early March, and the picture below of Doug E. (on the left) and Frank by Buttercup Creek Cave was taken on the same day.

The route will pass by about 20 gated cave entrances in the cave preserves, and it also includes some neighborhood streets and sidewalks. Below are a few pictures from early April when we were walking different parts of the route.

On another day in early April, we walked up to the “Quarry Overlook” by Whitewater Cave, and we took this photo of the quarry pond.

A few weeks ago, we had a workers’ walk and enjoyed checking out all the caves on our route. The picture below was taken at Buttercup Creek Cave. On the left are Mary D. and Charles R. in the back, with Rosie P. in front of them. On the right is Hal B., who is reading the sign for the cave.

In the next picture are (left to right) Rosie, Charles, Deb and Mary gathered around Jumbled Rocks Cave.

These last few pictures of scenery in the Discovery Well Cave Preserve were taken just last weekend. The recent rains have made things greener!

We hope that you will be able to join us on Saturday for this wonderful walk.
