Photos from Johnson and Butler Trails Walk on Feb 20th

Our Colorado River Walkers club held the Johnson and Butler Trails volksmarch last Saturday, February 20th.

The weather was great – sunny and cool – and we were glad to have our 22 walkers. We weren’t sure if people would be ready to venture out onto the hike and bike trails yet after last week’s snow and ice. You can still see some snow on the rocks along the banks of Lady Bird Lake in the picture above.

One of our new club members, Deb, took these photos at the walk on Saturday, and we appreciate her sharing them.

The walk consisted of two loops, and Deb walked both of them. Most of these pictures were taken on the loop that included the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike trail, with views of the Lamar Blvd bridge and wildlife on Lady Bird Lake.

The last two pictures were taken on the second loop of the route, which included older neighborhoods west of downtown Austin, Deep Eddy pool and park, and the Veterans memorials near the American Legion Post 76.

Thanks to Deb for taking and sharing these pictures. She’s got a great eye!

And thanks to all of our workers and walkers!
