This coming Saturday, January 23rd, Carol Obianwu is planning on leading a walk at Lake Pflugerville Park. We’ll be walking the Lake Pflugerville Trail, which circles the lake and is about 5k.
Lynn Butler sent us the photo above that she took in April of 2020, when she was walking the Lake Pflugerville Trail.
We will meet at 10:00 am at Lake Pflugerville Park, 18216 Weiss Lane, Pflugerville, TX 78660. Please see the driving directions and map at the bottom of this post.
Our club has a Pflugerville Year Round Event (YRE) with a different route, but we are branching out and walking around the lake this time. We are still treating this walk as a YRE, and Carol will bring the walk box from the Rec Center out to the parking lot at the lake on Saturday morning. We will sign the register, pay $3, and take a map of the Pflugerville Lake Trail.
We are hoping for good walking weather. If it is just cloudy with a hint of showers, Carol hopes to proceed with the walk. If the weather is very bad with constant rain, she will cancel. We’ll keep you posted.
Directions to get to Lake Pflugerville Park from IH-35:
Take Wells Branch Parkway heading east from IH-35. Turn left on Immanuel Rd (past the Rec center) to Pecan Street (1825). Turn right on Pecan Street and cross Route 130. Weiss Lane is at a traffic light a short distance past 130. Turn left on Weiss and drive till you see the lake on your left. Park at the far end of the dam.
