TVA Meeting and Walks in Boerne This Weekend

TVA Meeting and Walks in Boerne This Weekend

The Randolph Roadrunners are hosting the semiannual TVA Meeting this coming weekend in Boerne, Texas.  This is a three-day event starting Friday, March 6th, and ending on Sunday, March 8th.

Walkers may choose to walk any of the three YREs in Boerne on Friday, March 6th and/or on Sunday, March 8th.

On Saturday morning, walkers can participate in the Patrick Heath Public Library Walk, and walkers need to be finished by Noon.  The TVA General Membership Meeting will be held on Saturday afternoon.  Everyone is invited to this meeting, and it is a great way to become informed on issues in the world of Volkssporting in Texas and the USA.

For the event flyer, see below.

Below is more information on the three YREs in Boerne.  All of them have both a 6k and a 10k route, and all three are rated 1A. Also, all three of them qualify for the Special Program, “Walking the USA A – Z”.  They are:

Boerne Cemetery Walk –

The walk goes through residential neighborhoods, past schools, through the town cemetery and down the main street of Boerne. Many shops, restaurants and historical buildings and places of interest are featured along the route. Walk includes the newest portion of the hiking trail along Cibolo Creek.

Cibolo Wilderness Walk –

The trail goes through neighborhoods and on a “Rails to Trails” section to get to the Cibolo Nature Center. Almost 5km of the walk is inside the nature center where the walk is on trails and a boardwalk over a marsh. Also, see the dinosaur tracks.

Boerne Downtown Walk –

The walk is on paved roads and sidewalks through neighborhoods and downtown Boerne with several historical points of interest. This walk takes you on paths by the river and down the Main Street lined with quaint antique shops and boutiques.
